                                     KEEP THOSE ANIMALS OUT                                                             

   A small animal got under the hood of this automobile and  started  building a  nest.                                           



    This is another view of the same nest. It doesn't seem like a big  deal  until  you see the next picture

 


                                 
   If you look closely you will see all the wires in the  electrical harness chewed  through. This is just one of two  areas with  a totally severed electrical harness.  The other  area is down  behind  the engine  and  I could  not get a  picture.





   This animal must have been a real mean dude.  It chewed off  the whole  ridge of the battery and if that was not enough it even  chewed a hole  into the battery exposing the acid.  I never found    this animal but I'm  sure it suffered a painfull death having been  exposed to acid inside and  out.


  This is the complete engine electrical harness after it was removed from  the  vehicle.  





  To replace this engine harness the entire dashboard had to be  removed.





                                                  Total cost to repair, just under $3000.00  Fortunately the owner was able to work with his insurance company on the repair cost. If you live in the suburbs or in a wooded area check under the hood (carefully) if the vehicle is not used for a few days.
